Privacy Policy

Short version: Thought Processor keeps everything on your device. We don't collect it, we can't see it, and there's no account.
What we collect
Nothing. Thought Processor has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no server that receives your content. We, the developer, never receive your recordings, transcripts, notes, tags, or any usage data.
Where your data lives
Everything you create — audio recordings, transcripts, cleaned-up thoughts, tags, projects, and action items — is stored only on your device, in the app's private storage protected by iOS. It is not uploaded anywhere.
- Recording happens on device.
- Transcription happens on device (Apple's on-device speech engine).
- AI clean-up / organization happens on device (Apple's on-device models).
- Search and Spotlight indexing happen on device.
The app is fully functional with no internet connection.
Device permissions we request (and why)
- Microphone — to record your voice notes. Audio is saved on your device.
- Speech Recognition — to transcribe your recordings on device.
- Location (optional) — only if you allow it, to tag a recording with where you made it. Location stays on your device and can be declined; the app works fully without it.
- Face ID / Touch ID (optional) — to lock the app and your Private thoughts. Your biometric data never leaves the device and is handled entirely by iOS.
- Reminders / Calendar (optional) — only when you explicitly choose to add a detected task; nothing is created automatically.
You can change or revoke any of these in iOS Settings at any time.
Sharing and export — you're in control
Nothing leaves your device unless you choose to send it:
- Share a note's text or audio uses the standard iOS share sheet — you pick the destination (Messages, Mail, Files, AirDrop, etc.).
- Spotlight indexes your non-private notes on device so you can find them in iOS search. Private thoughts are never indexed.
- Widgets show your non-private notes on your Home/Lock Screen, on device. Private thoughts never appear in widgets.
- Backup creates a file you save wherever you choose; if any Private thoughts exist, the backup is encrypted.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone, because we never have it.
Private thoughts
Thoughts you mark Private are kept out of the normal feed, search, Spotlight, widgets, and the map, and require device authentication (Face ID / Touch ID / passcode) to view.
Children's privacy
The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Payments
Thought Processor is a one-time purchase through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the purchase; we never receive your payment details. We use Apple's on-device receipt/entitlement mechanisms only to unlock the app you bought.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here and dated above. Because the app collects nothing, changes will generally only clarify wording.
